Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 14790ST

US$0.00
SOLD

Description

This is the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak reference 14790ST. Significant to the history of horology, Audemars Piguet was a key contributor to the world of complicated timepieces in the past and more recently, the introduction of the Royal Oak as their flagship sports model. Introduced in the early 1990s, the reference 14790 was Audemars Piguet’s choice of a mid-sized Royal Oak. This reference ran through the 90s until it was discontinued in the late 2000s. Wearing far bigger than the 36mm case size suggests, the 14790 was once overlooked due to the smaller proportions as collectors moved towards the trend of bigger case sizes. However, recent demand has seen the revival in the interest towards smaller case sizes, and this is where this reference shines as the flagship mid-sized Royal Oak. This particular example has a military dial, which was never the most popular amongst the dial variations but still represents great value. With the 50th anniversary of the Royal Oak just around the corner, the demand of Royal Oaks is expected to reach even more feverish heights.

Condition

This Audemars Piguet 14790ST is in excellent pre-owned condition. There are some hairlines on the bezel and the bracelet from prior wear consistent with the age of the watch. The case remains in excellent condition with no major dings or dents of note. The caseback has only minor hairlines with the engravings still clearly visible and the bracelet exhibits no stretch and will fit a wrist size of up to 7.25”. This timepiece comes accompanied with the original box and certificate of guarantee dated 2001.
