This is the Bulgari Octo Finissimo 103011. Better known as a jewellery brand, Bulgari is a powerhouse in the world of luxury goods. Unfortunately, in the past, it wasn’t for their watchmaking. However, Bulgari took a huge step in acquiring respected independents like Gerald Genta and Daniel Roth to be taken seriously.
In 2017, Bulgari revealed a timepiece unlike any other. A ultra-thin and industrial sports watch, the Octo Finissimo held the record for the thinnest movement in the world. The 103011 is the steel variant of the Octo Finissimo line that was introduced shortly after the titanium variant and arguably more visually legible than the titanium version. It houses the BVL138 movement that measures a mere 2.23mm. Overall, the thickness of the watch is a mere 5.15mm in the trademark sandblasted steel case.
Though this version was replaced with later steel variants with satin-polished finishes, it is of my opinion that the first generation models with the sandblasted finishing throughout best represents the Octo Finissimo with its uniformly rugged look. It is a magnificent achievement for a brand that was known more for jewellery than watchmaking and has become one of their best-selling lines and is an icon in its own right.
Condition
This Bulgari Octo Finissimo 103011 is in excellent pre-owned condition. There are a small hairline above the 12 on the case. The bracelet has no signs of wear and both front and back crystals are clean. It also comes in a full set of box and guarantee dated 2021 and the watch is in full working order.
