Cartier Santos Carree 2960

US$0.00
SOLD

Description

This is the Cartier Santos Carree 2960. The story of the Cartier Santos is well told, that Louis Cartier designed a wristwatch for his friend, Alberto Santos-Dumont. Throughout the years since the first inception of the Santos, there have been many iterations of the iconic model. This reference was first introduced in 1978 as the Santos de Cartier. Replacing the traditional leather band with an integrated bracelet, Cartier manufactured a timepiece with a perfect blend of class and utility. The steel bracelet gives an industrial look to the Santos and the gold accents add a touch of luxury. With the inverse screws on the case, it was something bold and fresh from the maison. Less common than the bimetal variant of the 2961, this particular reference is the 2960 and comes in a case size of 29mm. It has a burgundy lacquer dial which has seen spidering over the course of its lifespan, giving it a unique, web-like appearance and a ruby cabochon.

Condition

This Cartier 2960 Burgundy is in good pre-owned condition. There are notable scratches on the polished bezel and some hairlines on the case and bracelet. A polish will be provided upon request. The bracelet will fit a wrist of up to 6.4” and additional links will be available upon request.
