Cartier Santos Galbee 2319 SIHH LE

US$0.00
SOLD

Description

This is the Cartier Santos Galbee 2319. The story of the Cartier Santos is well told, that Louis Cartier designed a wristwatch for his friend, Alberto Santos-Dumont. Throughout the years since the first inception of the Santos, there have been several iterations of the iconic model. Fast forward to 1987 when the Santos Galbee line was introduced. It was lightly curved to fit comfortably on the wrist as seen in the nomenclature given that “Galbee” means curved in French. Commercial success of the Santos Galbee was further enhanced by its appearance in the movie Wall Street, where Michael Douglas aka Gordon Gekko sported a full gold Santos Galbee. This particular example is the reference 2319 Limited Edition. It was released in SIHH 2002 as a limited edition of 2,000 pieces and is often regarded as one of the best looking variants of the Santos with its grey guilloche dial and without a date window. Though there are many variants of the Santos Galbee available in the secondary market, this LE rarely comes for sale.

Condition

This Cartier Santos Galbee 2319 LE is in very good pre-owned condition. There are some hairlines on the bezel as expected from prior wear. The case itself is in very good condition with only minor signs of wear. It comes fully linked with a full set of original box and guarantee paper.
