This is the Daniel Roth S177. Daniel Roth is a legend in the watchmaking industry that gets little attention in the world of horology today. Watchmaking runs in his blood. A fourth generation watchmaker, Daniel Roth was selected by Audemars Piguet early in his career due to his technical watchmaking ability. Following the AP stint, Roth moved to Breguet where until today, his knack for design still leaves footprints. In 2000, Bulgari bought over the Daniel Roth brand and the man himself left shortly after. Today, Daniel Roth has established his own brand once again as Jean Daniel Nicolas, named after his wife and child. As one of the pioneers of bringing independents mainstream, Daniel Roth will always remain one of the most respected and avant-garde watchmakers of his generation. This S177 has a case size of 35 x 38mm and comes from the pre-Bulgari takeover. It runs on a self-winding movement with a sapphire display caseback.
