Grand Seiko SBGE227

US$0.00
SOLD

Description

This is the Grand Seiko SBGE227. When talking about Grand Seiko, the Spring Drive movement immediately comes to mind. Conceived in 1977 and commercially released 22 years later in 1999, the Spring Drive is, among others, one of Seiko’s greatest accomplishments in the world of horology. The movement is often understood on a rudimentary level as a combination between a quartz and a mechanical movement. To delve deeper, the Spring Drive starts off as with many other mechanical watches - with the mainspring that drives a gear train. Unlike other mechanical watches, it ends with a regulator instead of an escapement, resulting in a smooth, continuous motion of the second hand. Spring Drive movements also have a generous power reserve of 72 hours. The SBGE227 also has a GMT function incorporated and the finishing is of the highest quality, as expected from the master manufacturer that is Grand Seiko.

Condition

This SBGE227 is in like new condition. It is a single owner piece that shows no visible signs of wear. The leather strap with the GS deployant is unworn and it still retains its caseback sticker as well as another year of warranty.
