Heuer Carrera 3647T

US$0.00
SOLD

Description

This is the Heuer Carrera 45 reference 3647T. The Carrera was first produced in 1963 and were produced by the same manufacturer as the Rolex Daytona. Both models have automobile racing lineage. The idea behind the Carrera was dial legibility and a tension ring was patented to secure the crystal to the case, ensuring space on the dial for a clear red tachymetre. The Carrera is Jack Heuer’s legacy and likely the most popular and recognizable line of Heuer chronographs. The reference 3647T runs on a manual winding Valjoux 92. This 3647T is an early Carrera, given away by the fact that it simply says SWISS on the dial and does not have the T letter that is often seen in the 3647T, indicative of tritium.

Condition

This Carrera reference 3647T retains all its original parts. The Valjoux 92 movement is in excellent working order having recently been serviced and the chronograph function runs smoothly. There are some scratches on the lugs and caseback due to wear and tear over time. The plastic crystal also has a small hairline near the centre of the dial which can only be seen under specific light conditions. The serial number is still visible between the lugs. Overall, exceptional condition given its age.
