Description

This is the Longines 6055 “Calatrava”. Longines was originally found in 1832 by August Agassiz. By 1880, Longines started to create all their movements in-house. Famous for their movements such as the Calibre 20H, 13ZN and 30CH, older Longines house their claim to fame - their movements. After being acquired in 1971 by what is now known as the Swatch Group, Longines started using ETA movements. Vintage Longines tend to be more sought after than their modern counterparts due to their timeless looks and the movement that is housed within. This particular timepiece houses one of their more famous time-only movements, the Caliber 27m and was originally invoiced to the company Ostersetzer, which was at that time a retailer of Longines in Italy has a comfortable case size of 35mm.

Condition

This Longines Calatrava is in excellent condition. There are minimal signs of wear on the case except for a few hairlines on the caseback. The dial remains clean and untouched save for a small mark above the 7 o clock marker with no spotting. The watch runs well at +15 seconds / day and the manual winding movement is still in good order and the plexiglass remains unblemished. Overall, excellent condition given its age.
