Must de Cartier Tank Manual Wind

US$0.00
SOLD

Description

This is the Les Must de Cartier Tank. Created to combat the quartz crisis that engulfed the Swiss watch industry in the 70s, it was a relatively low-priced version based on the Tank LC model that Cartier is famous for. As the appeal of precious metal high-end watches dwindled in comparison to the consumer-friendly quartz watches, Cartier decided to manufacture the tank in silver and plating it with gold to retain the luxury that they're so renowned for while keeping costs low to retain affordability. With a myriad of colours and a seemingly endless selection of dials, the "Must" appears to have regained some of its former glory. Let's never forget that it was instrumental to Cartier during the quartz crisis. In W&W 2021, Cartier relaunched the Must in steel, capitalizing on the newfound interest in the brand. This Must de Cartier Tank comes in a cream dial which is a less common variant and is a manual wind.

Condition

This Les Must de Cartier Tank is in very good pre-owned condition. The mineral glass and dial remain clean and the caseback engravings are still very visible. The case has signs of wear consistent with its age.
