Patek Philippe Calatrava 6000G

US$0.00
SOLD

Description

This is the Patek Philippe Calatrava 6000G. Founded in 1839, Patek Philippe has always been at the upper echelons of haute horology. A company that has always been privately owned, Patek has been manufacturing watches for almost two centuries without interruption. The company is currently owned by the Stern family, whose heritage dates back to when they were supplying dials to Patek in the 1920s.

A staple of their dress watch series, the Calatrava has always represented the quintessential dress watch. The first Calatrava was conceived almost a century ago in the early 1930s with the 96. Staying true to their design, Patek has maintained the classiness of the Calatrava by keeping the design minimal and timeless.

Unlike many other Calatravas, the 6000G’s dial might seem busy at first glance with a date ring on the outermost section of the dial and a red date hand. However, this adds a layer of complexity to the usually minimal Calatrava. On the inner ring is the hour and minute markers and like other Calatravas in the past, the small seconds is situated at the 4 o’clock marker. As with modern Calatravas, the case size is a comfortable 37mm and runs on the micro-rotor Calibre 240. This particular reference was replaced in 2016 with the 39mm reference 6006G.

Condition

This Patek Philippe 6000G is in very good pre-owned condition. There are some very light hairlines on the white gold case from careful prior wear but no major dings or dents. The caseback and sapphire crystals are nick-free. The original papers have been misplaced by the owner though he has managed to provide a photocopy of the original certificate. It retains the original box and is in full working order.
