The Datejust was originally released in 1945 as the first automatic watch with a date function. Released in 2004, this reference marked the start of Rolex adding a sixth digit to their references.
Through the years, the Datejust has evolved greatly with all sorts of different configurations. This particular variant is known as the onyx because of the onyx stone dial material that is utilised for the dial. As with onyx dials on this reference, it has diamonds on the 6 and 9 indices and is born on a leather strap with fixed endlinks.

The factory onyx dial has no flaws. It also retains its original boxes and a service card marking a Rolex service in March 2021.
