SJX x Zenith Chronomaster Revival "Poker Chip"
Description
This is the SJX x Zenith Chronomaster Revival “Poker Chip”. A collaboration between two esteemed players in their respective industries, the “Poker Chip” was produced to commemorate the 10th anniversary of WatchesbySJX. Founded by now-renowned journalist and collector Su Jiaxian (SJX) in 2011, the website is among the most read and respected horological journals online. Zenith, as a brand, is one of the oldest continuously operating watchmakers that produced the highly important El Primero, the world’s first automatic chronograph movement that has notably powered the five digit Rolex Daytona.
Loosely based on a lesser-known model, the G383, the “Poker Chip” is a modern remake with a heavy dose of lume. Given that the G383 is a fairly unknown reference, the choice of a modern version really displays the vast knowledge of SJX. The choice of the El Primero 400 that has powered many Zenith models truly shows the ability of the brand to produce a workhorse movement that withstands the test of time. Finally, the case is also the first of its kind to be produced in micro-blasted titanium.
With a generous helping of Super-Luminova, the dial really comes alive in the dark. Reimagining the Poker Chip dial of the vintage G383 but with modern elements, the three segments of the dial are individually patterned as with the original, except in Super-Luminova. This is accompanied by a “Glow-in-the-dark” strap that matches the extravagance of the dial perfectly.
As with SJX’s previous two limited-editions, the SJX x Zenith “Poker Chip” was unsurprisingly sold out worldwide. It is truly a piece that showcases the best of both parties - the imagination and knowledge of SJX and the outstanding watchmaking of Zenith and it’ll be hard-pressed to find another vintage re-issue with such contemporary interpretation.
Condition
This SJX x Zenith Poker Chip is in unworn condition and retains a full set of original box and warranty dated 2021. The box has some wear due to storage and the watch is in full working order.
