Tudor Submariner 79090

US$0.00
SOLD

Description

This is the Tudor Submariner reference 79090. The Tudor Submariner reference 79090 was introduced in 1989 in a 39mm case size with an outlook reminiscent of a Rolex Submariner. The 79090 runs on the workhorse ETA 2824-2 movement. It’s just as well it was launched back then, when reliability mattered more than reputation. In today’s context, the lust for in-house movements is far stronger. Though Tudor has always been in Rolex’s shadow, even releasing Submariners after its parent company, they seem to be holding their own as valued, discontinued timepieces. Today, Tudor Submariners are far rarer than Rolex ones and they represent collectors that are often on the different ends of the horological spectrum. Not common of watches from its time, this Tudor Submariner comes in a full set of box and punched papers with 380B endlinks and a Tudor bracelet stamped P9.

Condition

This Tudor Submariner 79090 is in very good pre-owned condition. The case appears unpolished and the main areas of wear are the hairlines on the caseback. There is a hairline at the top left corner of the sapphire crystal. The dial is clean and the indices and hands have aged to a nice creamy patina. It also comes will a full set of box and punched papers.
