  • This is the Habring² x Monochrome Montre de Souscription Monopusher. Habring² is an independent brand founded by Austrian couple, Maria Kristina and Richard Habring. While the name may seem have been unfamiliar to the most in the past, all has changed with the rise in popularity of the independents. Richard Habring has credentials as good as any watchmaker, and was the man in charge of producing the rattrapante, or split-seconds chronograph, at IWC. Together with his wife, Maria, they produce a very limited number number of watches a year with their eponymous brand, Habring².

The Habring² brand is no stranger to collaborations and is among the most sought after due to their relative affordability, clear design language and technical prowess. The Montre de Souscription was Monochrome’s first ever collaboration and was released in a limited edition of 33 pieces. Using the base model of Habring²’s recognizable Chrono-Felix, the timepiece is powered by the same manual wind A11C-H1 movement which is a Valjoux 7750 heavily modified into a monopusher.

Besides the impressive movement, the dial is also one to behold, with a railroad-style minute track, a very legible telemeter scale and two-tone salmon colour. Habring² was a brand that was perhaps under the radar once upon a time but with the growing appreciation of independents in addition to the brand keeping their timepieces relatively affordable, it’s easy to see why this is one of the most beloved independents in horology.

  • This Habring² x Monochrome Montre de Souscription is in excellent pre-owned condition with barely any signs of wear on the case. There are some signs of prior wear on the caseback but overall remains in excellent condition. It retains the full set of original box and papers and is in full working order.
